1️⃣0️⃣ Ways To Make Extra Change From Your Beehiiv Email list

I hope you’re having a great day today, I’ve been fighting a headache the past few days. But we’re still out here!

So today’s issue was inspired by Matt Paulson tweet aka the Media King, which showed up in my feed a few weeks ago.

He shared 10 ways to make money from your email list.

The 10 ways:

• Ads

• Affiliate Deals

• Triggered Sequences

• Coreg

• Display

• SMS

• Premium tiers

• Direct Reponse

• Products

• Partner Revenue

Let’s break down each one with some examples!

1/ Ads

These can be ads that either a brand has reached out to you, or maybe you’re on beehiiv and you’re using their partner ad network. Which make it really easy for you to make money from their ads.

2/ Affiliate deals

Probably one of my favorite ways for a newsletter to make money, is promoting someone else product and you make a commission.

The best ones are recurring commissions, scroll to the bottom to see an example. 😉 

3/ Triggered Sequences

Never heard of this one, but the Media King came through and answered someones tweet when they asked what this was…

4/ Coreg

Where you promote someones product, once they opted in for your own email list. You can do something like this with beehiiv, where you promote another newsletter and get paid if they signed up.

5/ Display

Not sure if he means ads in your newsletter, which is just ads then.

6/ SMS

This is an interesting one, when I worked at a SaaS start-up that provided SMS marketing to clients. I saw how much money these customers were making when they sent an SMS to a lead.

Capture Lead > You send SMS > lead/customer > books a time to meet or customer clicks the link to buy from you

There isn’t a way to do this within beehiiv (yet), but you can do this by signing up to Twilio to send SMS to leads when they sign up to your newsletter. You can sell a product or a service which is what most customers use SMS for.

7/ Premium Tiers

A newsletter subscriber can pay for premium content, for example you have AI prompts you created and only subscribers who paid can access those prompts. beehiiv makes it easy to set this up.

8/ Direct Response

Pretty straight forward. You write copy and then they buy from you.

9/ Products

You can create digital products like templates, ebooks, coloring pages, or courses and then sell them to your email list. A recent feature that beehiiv released (they don’t take a cut)

10/ Partner Revenue

You partner with a company and get a percentage of the sales that are generated when you send an email.
